Research project

How do Danes perceive surveillance?

The project is related to the Danish Value Survey (Værdiundersøgelsen). The project analyses how Danes perceive surveillance based on the survey data.

The project is part of a large Danish (and European) value-oriented survey conducted  in 2017.

The survey has been conducted every ninth year since 1981 and has in 2017 - for the first time - included questions related to surveillance and terrorism.

The analysis of the Danish respondents vis-a-vis three types of surveillance is published in Uncertain Modernity – Values of the Danes 1981-2017 (Hans Reitzels forlag, 2019), and in Everyday Life in the Culture of Surveillance (Nordicom, 2022) forthcoming.
