National human rights institutions and the SDGs
The 2030 Agenda on Sustainable Development seeks to realise human rights for all. For this reason and due to their nature as independent bodies with the mandate to promote and protect human rights, we consider national human rights institutions (NHRIs) key actors in the realisation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

In this context, we provide guidance to NHRIs in different regions, including Latin America, Asia Pacific and Africa and encourage them to use human rights-related data in their monitoring of state policies (i.e., when they engage with the drafting of voluntary national reviews) and participate in a peer-to-peer exchange of tools and good practices.
