This study looks more closely at democratic participation in debates on the social media Facebook.
The study is based on a questionnaire survey among 2,305 Danish Facebook users and highlights the users' attitudes to freedom of expression on social media, experiences of Facebook debates and differences in debate behavior.
We also look at the significance of the tone of debates on Facebook for democratic participation.
