Prohibition of racist utterance

Freedom of expression is limited by the racism clause in section 266b of the Criminal Code.

The Islam critic Rasmus Paludan, who this month at several demonstrations has argued the Qur'an, has begun the debate on where the balance between freedom of expression and the protection of minorities should go. In Denmark, the freedom of expression of the citizens is limited, among other things, by the racial law, which is explained in more detail in this fact sheet.
