The health rights of unregistered migrants

The report examines access to health for two of the most vulnerable migrant groups - unregistered pregnant women and children.

According to human rights, every human being has the right to enjoy the highest attainable physical and mental health without any form of discrimination. In Denmark, however, unregistered migrants have only limited rights to healthcare.

From several sides, it has been questioned whether these limitations are in accordance with Denmark's convention obligations. Especially when it comes to pregnant women and children.

In this report, the Department of Human Rights examines access to health and more for two of the most vulnerable migrant groups - unregistered pregnant women and children.

The study includes interviews with unregistered migrant women, as well as interviews with organizations and authorities, including representatives from the health service.
The report concludes with a number of recommendations.

This report is in Danish but contains an English summary on page 9.
