Child abuse - does new enactment provides full protection of children?

One of two parallel publications analysing aspects of municipal protection schemes and measures to prevent and handle cases of child abuse.

This report focuses on the concept of child abuse as it has been defined in the recent legislative reform, called the ‘Anti-Abuse Package’ (‘Overgrebspakken’). The amendment explicitly specified physical and sexual abuse as the focus of the initiative, and consequently excluded psychological abuse and neglect from certain aspects of the protection measures.

The aim of the analysis is to assess whether the new enactment provides full protection of children against abuse as prescribed in the Convention on the Rights of the Child and the European Convention on Human Rights.

The report is in Danish but contains an English summary on page 15.
