DIHR appoints new Department Director

Elsebeth Krog, Director, Human Rights Systems Department.
The Danish Institute for Human Rights has appointed Elsebeth Krogh as the new Director of the Human Rights Systems Department.

Elsebeth Krogh’s experiences in the fields of human rights and international development are vast and she has worked in countries such as Zimbabwe, Afghanistan, Honduras and Kazakhstan. Most recently, she has held the position as the Executive Director of IWGIA – the International Work Group for Indigenous Affairs.

Prior to joining IWGIA, she has held executive offices at the Centre for Culture and Development, CKU, and Dan Church Aid in Copenhagen – among others. She holds a Masters in Economic Geography and an Executive Masters of Business Administration.

The institute’s Deputy Executive Director, Eva Grambye, is looking forward to her upcoming cooperation with Elsebeth Krogh.

“The position as the Department Director requires strong management skills as well as a strong understanding of different human rights approaches globally. Elsebeth is a seasoned expert in both fields and I am very much looking forward to having her join our team”, says Eva Grambye.

Elsebeth Krogh is also looking forward to take on new responsibilities at the institute.

“The Danish Institute for Human Rights enjoys a high level of credibility and impact throughout the world, so I am very much looking forward to taking part in these important tasks and to lead a group of highly skilled human rights experts”, says Elsebeth Krogh.

Elsebeth Krogh joins the institute at the 1st of February 2017.
