My primary occupation since graduation in 1979 has been research and teaching at university level. Concurrently I have been engaged in consultancy work, writing of text books and teaching material, and I have been active in NGO work on women and development.
For the last ten years I have been working as senior researcher and project manager at the Danish Centre for Human Rights, engaged primarily in research and project cooperation, besides pure research involving all kinds of academic activities like arranging seminars (in Asia/China and Denmark), editing books and papers, coordinating multidisciplinary academic exchanges, identifying and contacting appropriate collaborators on the European or Danish side, linking Danish and Chinese institutions, reporting on projects to donors, etc. Furthermore, I have had the economic responsibility for individual projects amounting to 2. mio. DKK a year.
In all I have spent approximately six years in China on longer or shorter stays. I speak, write and read English without difficulty, speak and read Chinese good and speak and read French and German at a basic level.
