Research

The research department has as its objective to provide knowledge and understanding of human rights on the global, regional and national level by means of an interdisciplinary research effort. The department hosts staff from a broad variety of disciplines, such as law, social sciences, history, and religion.

The departments' researchers regularly publish their work results in scientific journals, books and networks with a broad variety of academic and institutional actors in the human rights community.

The departments' researchers also provide universities, authorities, civil society and the business sector with qualified teaching and training services. The Department is also often called upon to provide independent expertise in public hearings and debates.
