At its meeting in Geneva in March 2009, the ICC Bureau accepted a proposal - presented by DIHR in its role as coordinator of the ICC Steering Committee - to establish a Business and Human Rights Working Group.

The Working Group is the first thematic working group ever to be established by the ICC.

The first meeting of the Working Group, involving nine NHRI members from across the ICC’s four world regions, was held in Copenhagen in August 2009. The strategy and programme of the Working Group will be finalized and released in 2010.
